Vox Nymburgensis, a mixed chamber choir, was established in 1988 by Jaroslava Modrochova, since she felt necessity to cultivate performing of sacred music in Czech region. Dr. Modrochova was first choir-conductor, she is still a guarantor of wide concert activities in the whole Czech republic.

The choir performs not only sacred works, but also secular works of all times and styles, ranging from vocal polyphony, classical works of choir literature to adaptations of traditional songs, jazz, spirituals, Czech folk songs and compositions of contemporary composers. The choir pay attention to development of mutual Czech – German French activities. In many-sided co-operation with foreign choirs cantatas , mass compositions and oratories by A.Dvorak, J. S. Bach, G. B. Pergolesi, J. Haydn, W.A Mozart and other were performed. Vox Nymburgensis regularly takes part in choir competitions, displays and festivals not only in Czech republic, but in Germany, France, Poland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Denmark , Norway as well. The choir organizes an annual  international festival of sacred music „Bohuslav Matej Cernohorsky Days“, where a lot of  high-level amateur choirs take part. The Vox Nymburgensis choir have consisted of amateur singers of all age groups, usually around 25 members.

Dr. Jaroslava Modrochova is a founder, first choir conductor and nowadays  an artistic guarantor of the Vox Nymburgensis choir. She has given all her life to music. She graduated from  Charles university, her teacher of conducting was Zdenek Kosler. Dr. Modrochova is a member of World Association Of Choir Conductors. As a Ministry of Culture employee she is responsible for development and support of non-professional choirs in Czech republic. She takes part in juries in several international music festivals all over the world, which offer an opportunity to meet the best choirs and musicians. Dr. Modrochova always has emphasized an importance of  careful singing education and heartful feeling of music.

 

Dr. Jaroslava Modrochová, founder, first chorister and artistic leader of the Vox nymburgensis was always undefatigable organiser of the activities in the field of the choir singing. At the rehersals she always requires uncompromising voice education, home preparation and full envolvement for the common work. She studied music at the Charles University of Prague and conducting at Mr. Kosler’s class. At a member of the World Association of the Choir Conductors, she takes part regurarly in its activities, many times as a member of the jury. She founded a number of choirs in Bohemia, Vox nymburgensis being one of them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jan Krejčík (1974) has been a chorister since 1994 and together with the artistic leader of the choir they have formed a pair, which to benefit of the choir, complements itself not only by the age, but also by the temperament, way of organising events and working with the singers, as well as the approach to the musical orientation in styles and genre. He’s very efficient and flexible during the correpetitions and conducting. At the Prague Conservatory he finished the studies of composition and conducting. He continued at the Music Faculty of the Prague Academy of Musical Arts and studied both composing (prof. Ivan Kurz) and conducting (prof. J. Belohlavek). At present, he studies composing at the Conservatoir Superiér in Paris.

 

 

Jan Mikušek was born in 1970 in Valasske Mezirici. He studied the cimbalon playing at the Brno Conservatory and also conducting in the class of Mr. Evzen Holis. In 1991 he became a conductor of the male choir called Beseda in Valasske Mezirici and at the same time the deputy conductor of the Förster Choir – nowadays known as Czech Philharmony choir Brno. He continued his studies at the Prague Academy of Musical Arts, where he graduated under the leadership of Mr. Frantisek Vajnar. He has been a chorister of Vox nymburgensis since september 2000. He is also well known as a great singer, his contatenor could be heard for example in Prague´s National theatre, or in various vocal ensembles as Capella Regia, Ritornello, Affetto etc.
